Lyng Hall School is a comprehensive school in Coventry, England, with specialist status as a Sports College. It is well known for its prolific work within its community and the city of Coventry, also for its 'Batty-Rider' status.[1] It has a wide range of new facilities from a running track to modern computer software. In popular culture, the singer and actress Cher wrote a song dedicated to the school called 'Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves'.

The school is now twinned with a school known as Kiddawalime School, which is in Uganda.

The school adopts its own culture and in some cases, for senior 'skets' it's own language. Students at the school affectionately refer to each other as 'Skets' and variations on the phrase such as 'dirty sket', 'lovely sket' and finally and most respected of all 'pon di love pipe sket'[2]
